What drives your passion for hair coloring and styling, and how do you incorporate individuality into your work?
“The way the hair industry is constantly changing keeps me inspired. There is always something new to learn, and continuing my education helps me grow as a colorist. It also allows me to customize each color service to the individual client, because there are many different ways to get to the right result.”
How do you approach color transformations?
“I like to collaborate, ask questions, and think through the best path for each client’s hair. One recent transformation involved a client with mostly gray roots and level six brown mids and ends who wanted to embrace her natural gray. I used Redken highlights and lowlights to create a soft gray blending result and make her grow-out process feel as seamless as possible.”
Why is lifelong learning key for you?
“Education is a huge part of how I continue to build my craft. I’ve attended hair shows, taken specialty classes, and continued learning through programs like Salt Society and Vidal Sassoon online education. Being part of RAW Hair & Co. in Dallas also gives me the chance to learn from stylists with different techniques and perspectives.”
What’s your take on trends?
“I like taking inspiration from others’ work and putting my own spin on the application. It keeps things fresh while still allowing me to keep myself in the work and continue expanding my knowledge as a hair colorist.”
What philosophy guides you?
“My approach is collaborative and detail-oriented. I want each client to feel like their color was created for them, whether we’re doing custom color, gray blending, highlights, lowlights, or a softer grow-out plan.”
What sets RAW apart for you?
“The collaboration at RAW is my favorite part. Everyone is willing to share, teach, and help each other succeed. Having educators and stylists with different styles and techniques has helped me stay open-minded and brave enough to keep growing.”
What advice do you have for aspiring stylists?
“Keep learning and growing. This is my second apprenticeship, and I have no shame in taking a step back if it helps me continue expanding my craft. The industry is always changing, so never stop educating yourself.”
What’s your mantra?
“There is not one single path in this industry. There are so many avenues to take to get to your destination.”
